Company certificates are essential for secure business transactions, but managing them across multiple partners can be complex. In today's automotive supply chains, companies must repeatedly upload certificates (e.g. ISO, IATF, AEO) to multiple partner portals, leading to redundant work, data inconsistencies, and high administrative effort. A standardized data model has been developed for Catena-X participants to share certificates through an Eclipse Dataspace Connector (EDC) instead.
Prerequisites
Completed onboarding to Cofinity-X (see Program Overview)
A suitable Company Certificate Management solution connected via the Marketplace
Data Governance Credentials should be activated from Cofinity-X Portal: See guide
Step 1: Prepare your certificate
Make sure your certificate is one of the accepted types:
IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 50001, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 20000, ISO 22301, AEO, CTPAT, VDA 6.4
Step 2: Prepare required location identifiers (BPNS or BPNA)
Each certificate must be linked to a specific location, either a Site or an Address.
Get a BPNS (for a site)
You can get a BPNS for your site in the Cofinity-X Portal.
For your main legal entity:
Go to "Your Company" → "Your sites and addresses"
Add or manage your sites there
OR
Get a BPNA (for an address)
Get a BPNA for each individual location the certificate applies to.
Retrieve a BPNA for every site where the certificate will be used
Follow the BPNA retrieval guide in the Cofinity-X Portal
Note: this process may take up to 2 working days
Step 3: Submit your certificate via PUSH method
Send the certificate according to Catena-X standard using the following details:
Environment: Production
Method: PUSH
EDC URL:
https://nova-provider-edc-edc.dataspaceos.svc.cofinity-x.com/api/v1/dspBPNL (Recipient):
BPNLCOFINITYEZFA
Step 4: Notify Cofinity-X
Send an email to [email protected], mentioning your company name and BPNL, to confirm the certificate was sent successfully.
What happens next
Cofinity-X will consume and check your certificate for data correctness, completing the validation process for Dataspace readiness. Upon successful validation, you'll receive your Data Readiness Certificate in the DSA portal.
