We would like to inform you about an important update regarding the site/BPNS creation process.
Current Status of Sites/BPNS
Until now, the Cofinity-X portal allowed a subsidiary's site to be created directly under the main legal entity (in the section “Your company” -> “Your sites and addresses”). Going forward, each site must sit under its own correct legal entity. We will add technical checks to enforce this in upcoming releases.
Sites placed under the wrong legal entity will be removed after July 31, 2026. Please recreate your sites under the correct legal entity before that date.
This is to ensure data accuracy and preserve consistency in the ecosystem.
How to Correctly Create Sites/BPNS?
A) Sites belonging directly to Active Participant (Registered company)
Provisioning sites for the Active Participant (the one which has a wallet, EDC, and Portal access) can be done by adding the information via "Your Company" -> "Your sites and addresses"
https://myportal.cofinity-x.com/organization
See the documentation here: https://userguide.cofinity-x.com/en/articles/312539-add-site-data
B) Sites that do not belong to the Active Participant (Registered company)
To create a site that belongs to a subsidiary (Managed Partner) of your group:
1. Onboard the subsidiary with managed by:
https://userguide.cofinity-x.com/en/articles/637970-set-up-and-onboard-a-managed-legal-entity
2. Create the site under the managed by company
Upon explicit request by your customer for testing in beta of production critical use cases, we suggest provisioning strictly needed sublegal entities and sites also on beta.
In summary, we kindly ask you to:
i) onboard your group’s subsidiaries with managed by,
ii) create your sites under the correct legal entity, and
iii) transition your ongoing use cases to the newly created BPNS.
We understand this takes effort and appreciate your cooperation. If you need additional support, e.g. with 24/7 car production use cases, please reach out to [email protected].
