In the Catena-X ecosystem, availability notifications combine proactive notification with on-demand retrieval to ensure efficient certificate exchange.
You may send a Certificate Available Notification to your partner, which then retrieves the certificate using the PULL mechanism.
Advantages:
No need for continuous active checks by the data consumer
Access to the most up-to-date certificate data
Reduced operational overhead
Efficient and scalable certificate exchange
Prerequisites
Before starting the certificate exchange process, ensure the following steps are completed:
Your company is successfully onboarded in the Cofinity-X Portal.
You have subscribed to the Dataspace OS application via the Cofinity-X Portal Marketplace. For additional information or assistance, please contact [email protected].
1. Sign Data Governance Credential
Please sign data governance credentials. Navigate in the Cofinity-X portal to Profile Menu → Company Wallet → Request New Credential. Select DataExchangeGovernance and Proceed.
2. Ensure your EDC is registered
To register your EDC, please follow this guide: Managing EDC registration
3. Share the Certificate via Dataspace OS Certificate Management
3.1 Sign in to Dataspace OS
Log in to Dataspace OS using the username and password provided by customer support, or via Cofinity-X Portal SSO. Detailed instructions are available here: First Sign in to Dataspace OS | Cofinity-X Help Center
Navigate to: Use Cases Adonis → Certificate Management
Note: If the Certificate Management application is not yet activated for your account, please contact [email protected] to request activation.
3.2 Uploading Certificates
Open the Certificates section.
Click on “Add Certificate” and upload your Certificate PDF:
2. Fill out the required fields:
Certificate Type, Version, Registration Number, Issuer and Validity – all can be found on the certificate.
Add optionally the Area of application.
3. Add the Applicable Certificate Location
Choose the address of the certificate from the Certificate location drop-down menu.
4. Validate the data and click on Save and Continue:
Choose the partner from the drop-down menu and select the Sharing Method as Notification and click on share with partners
4.2. Existing Certificate
Identify the certificate in the list.
Open Actions → Share with partner.
In the Business partner, select the your partner's company name
As a Sharing method choose "Notification"
Click “Share with partners.”
5. Monitor the Status of your Shared certificate
Click on the Actions of your chosen certificate and select View.
Monitor the status (e.g., Pending, Accepted, Failed, Rejected)
