In the Catena-X ecosystem, availability notifications combine proactive notification with on-demand retrieval to ensure efficient certificate exchange.
After making your certificate discoverable, you may send a Certificate Available Notification to your partner, which then retrieves the certificate using the PULL mechanism.
Advantages:
No need for continuous active checks by the data consumer
Access to the most up-to-date certificate data
Reduced operational overhead
Efficient and scalable certificate exchange
Prerequisites
Before sending an availability Notification, make sure that:
Your certificate is discoverable within Catena-X Network. Follow the steps from the guide: Certificate Discoverability
1. Send an Availability Notification:
1.1. Newly uploaded certificate
When uploading a new certificate:
Click “Add certificate”.
In the next step, ensure that Discoverability is set to “Yes.”
In the Recipient Name, select the your partner's company name
As a Sharing method choose "Notification"
Click “Share certificate.”
1.2. Existing Certificate
Identify the certificate in the list.
Open Actions → Share with partner.
Set Discoverability to “Yes”.
In the Recipient Name, select the your partner's company name
As a Sharing method choose "Notification"
Click “Share certificate.”
2. Monitor the Status of your Shared certificate
Click on the Actions of your chosen certificate and select View.
Monitor the status (e.g., Pending, Accepted, Failed, Rejected)
